Progress through e-mobility

Since the opening of the DPD Micro Hub in July 2020 at our location at Mühlentalstrasse 174 in Schaffhausen, we have been able to generate massive time and environmental savings. By reducing the number of kilometers driven daily, the use of electric vehicles was now possible. Together with DPD, a pilot project was launched to test 7 electrified delivery vehicles. The 7 vehicles were put through their paces by our parcel delivery staff in daily use for about half a year, and the decision was finally made in favor of the VW E-Crafter 35. Although the vehicles are equipped with a smaller loading volume, even more kilometers could be saved through route optimization, so that the new loading volume was no longer a challenge.
Since July 6, 2021, two electric vehicles have now been in daily use. By using the two electric vehicles, we save about 3744 liters of fossil fuels per year, which allows us to prevent about 9,921.6 kg of CO2 emissions per year.
