For several years we could rely on our ramp for loading and unloading. However, it was time to buy a new ramp and to adapt it to today's standards. We also extended the ramp and decided to use an ecological solution for construction.
In the middle of September 2019 the time had finally come and the demolition of the old ramp had begun. Since our old ramp was made exclusively of wood, this work was easily feasible for our specialist.
For our new ramp we decided to use a construction of concrete elements and a wooden scaffold, so that it will withstand forklift trucks, cars and other heavy equipment without any problems. In particular, the ramp section directly in front of our rolling gate was built reinforced with 2 large concrete bases.
We have also made some changes to the stairs in front of our main entrance. Since we wanted to extend our new ramp up to the stairs, we had to move the steps by 90 degrees. Now the entrance as well as the first ramp parking place e.g. for the packing material pick-up / return is easily accessible for our customers without any further detours.
In the next step we calculated and ordered the exact number of wooden beams needed. We also ordered non-slip and weatherproof cover plates for the floor of the ramp. After the foundation was filled with concrete, the wooden beams as well as non-slip and weatherproof cover plates were delivered, the further work could be started. First, all wooden beams had to be shortened to the right length and the exact arrangement had to be determined. After this was done, the beams could first be fixed and then firmly screwed together. Finally, the non-slip and weatherproof cover plates were mounted.
Et voilà - our new ramp is ready!
We hope that our new ramp will support us for many years in loading and unloading all kinds of goods. Hereby we would like to thank you once again for your outstanding work at our company site in Schaffhausen.
